Aotea Electric began in 1973 with the formation of an electrical contracting company in Dunedin. Growth into other locations was steady until the economic downturn in the mid 1980’s saw a decline in the company’s size.
A management buy-out occurred in 1990.
The new owners focused on providing a quality based professional delivery utilizing the years of experience already gained by the existing staff. The success of this approach has seen a steady growth, where we now operate businesses in Auckland, Tauranga, Hastings, Masterton, Taranaki, Wellington, Nelson, Westport, Greymouth, Franz Josef, Christchurch, Ashburton, Timaru, Wanaka, Oamaru, Cromwell, Alexandra, Balclutha, Queenstown, Dunedin and Invercargill.
